We witnessed the dedication of farmers who rose with the sun to tend the earth, our dream was seeded—to bridge the gap between their exceptional produce and eager markets beyond our borders.

First Production and Export

Rokand coffee embarked on its journey with its first production of roasted coffee. This led to the companhy making its first export to Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia and Mozambique marking the company's entry into the international market.

Struggles Amid Economic Challenges

Towards the end of the first year of operation, we faced substantial challenges as many clients reduced their orders due to harsh economic conditions. This period tested the resilience and adaptability of the company, propelling it to reassess its strategies.

Focus on Local Market

Rokand Coffee redirected its efforts towards the local market. Understanding the longstanding tea-drinking tradition in Kenya, the company launched campaigns through a local entity to educate consumers about the unique qualities of Kenyan coffee. This strategy aimed to build a strong and appreciative domestic customer base.

Founded by two young entrepreneurs who were inspired by the coffee knowledge passed down by their parents and grandparents in the heart of Mount Kenya.
